Atlanta Celebrates National Massage Therapy Awareness Week
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 24, 2015 -- The Atlanta City Council on behalf of its citizens has joined communities across the nation in recognizing the healthcare benefits of massage therapy. October 25 - 31st, 2015 is officially National Massage Therapy Awareness Week in the City of Atlanta. Shannon Grant, owner of The Art of Touch, says, “Massage therapy has a real impact on healthcare. Emory University, Shepard’s Spinal Center and other respected healthcare institutions around the country have been conducting ongoing research on the efficacy of healthcare benefits of massage therapy. The results of the research support the categorization of massage therapy as healthcare.”
The Art of Touch is offering free chair massage and several other activities at their Midtown location during National Massage Therapy Awareness Week. All are welcome to stop by and learn about how massage therapy can be a valuable component in any wellness program. Owner Grant adds, “As a board certified therapist, I believe it’s our professional responsibility to take action and educate our community about massage therapy.
