Author introduces biblical mathematics as ‘The Other Witness’
BARTELSO, Ill. (PRWEB) January 29, 2015 -- In reading the Bible, author Ben Behrens began to question if the numbers contained within had other meanings besides the strictly quantitative values. Within his new book, “The Other Witness” (published by iUniverse), Behrens takes a unique approach to the study of numbers in Scripture and everyday life.
This quick read highlights the surprisingly important role numbers play in understanding the Bible. “The Other Witness” serves as a starting point for the exploration of biblical math and inspires readers to take on their own research for a greater appreciation of the Scriptural truth.
“The number usage in Bible stories parallels or confirms the truth of an event,” Behrens says. “Hence, the math becomes the other witness.”
Behrens’ book adds another dimension of understanding the Bible to biblical studies as it not only illustrates the integration of mathematics in past biblical events, but also illuminates current and future happenings through the language of God’s mathematics.
