Automox Releases Automated Software Deployment To Prevent Software-Related Security Threats
BOULDER, Colo. (PRWEB) January 23, 2018 -- Automox, a global provider of cloud-based patch management and security solutions, today announced the latest release of its Automated Software Deployment feature set. The cloud-based patch management platform is used by IT Managers to automate and scale the security of their server and client infrastructures, which include a growing number of multi-OS workstations that rely heavily on 3rd party software applications.
As the corporate workforce becomes increasingly remote, ensuring that all employee’s devices have the required and approved software installed has become a challenge for IT Managers. Master templates for virtual machines and servers, known as golden images, are often out of date only hours after they are created, and it is almost impossible to enforce that the approved software remains on a machine over the hardware life-cycle. Automox lets IT Managers and System Administrators automatically deploy software to workstations and servers on any operating system, at any location, ensuring data and system security.
“One of the biggest requirements for securing client and server infrastructure is making sure that both the operating system and 3rd party software are up to date and patched." said Jay Prassl, Automox founder and CEO. “Yet in addition to patching, a secure endpoint configuration also requires that critical software be installed. Antivirus is a great example. By giving IT Managers more authority and governance over their infrastructure, we help them prevent security threats instead of react to them.” Added Prassl.
Automox provides automated patch management for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems and recently expanded its catalog of third party software patching to include Adobe’s Air, Acrobat, DC Continuous, and DC Classic applications. The platform already natively patches third party software including Adobe Flash, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Java, Firefox, Chrome, MS Office and others.
Automox customer, Hero Digital, is a rapidly-growing customer experience agency that creates proven strategies and digital experiences for leading brands. Their clients include Fortune 1000 companies in the consumer electronics, healthcare, hospitality, and B2B technologies industries. “We provide managed services for hundreds of multi-platform client servers across the country that all rely on various 3rd party software applications to function,” stated Mathew Strommen, Systems & Infrastructure Engineer for Hero Digital. “With Automox, I can easily deploy software and patches to any device and trust those updates to happen. That reliability is key to our customers’ confidence in Hero Digital,” added Strommen.
Boulder-based Automox experienced a record year of growth in 2017 as the company rolled out new product releases that included vulnerability status reporting, advanced configuration management and end user notifications. IT Managers and SysAdmins can test the software deployment features with a free Automox trial.
