Avenidas Presents Eighth Annual Housing Conference
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) March 19, 2015 -- Avenidas and the City of Palo Alto are presenting the eighth annual housing conference from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 21. The conference will be held at the Mitchell Park Community Center located at 3700 Middlefield Rd. in Palo Alto.
The conference will include morning coffee, a keynote address, conference materials and giveaways, a fresh box lunch, a choice of three workshops, “Café Conversations” with the speakers and beverages from the specialty espresso cart.
Susanne Stadler, architect and co-founder of the interdisciplinary learning forum and network “At Home With Growing Old,” will deliver the keynote address “A Home For All Ages” at 10 a.m. She will discuss the home as the base for emotional and physical well-being. Her aim is to educate developers, planners, architects and social workers on the true meaning of “age-friendly” design.
After, guests will take part in three sessions, as well as lunch, with the option of three different workshops per session. Workshop topics include “Financing Options,” “How Technology Can Help You Live Independently,” “Making Your Home Work for You,” “Downsizing, Decluttering and Moving” and more.
Steve Hardy from Avenidas Rose Kleiner Center, Vickie Epstein from Avenidas Village and Paul Wolfson from Avenidas Care Partners will present the workshop “Premier Resources for Aging in Place.” The panel will discuss the different options available for support, including adult day health care, socialization, care coordination and home care resources.
