Bon Secours New York Health System Welcomes Retired Sisters of Charity to the Family
Riverdale, New York (PRWEB) April 01, 2015 -- Bon Secours New York Health System welcomed fourteen retired Sisters of Charity to the Schervier Nursing Care Center family last week. The Sisters formerly resided at the Convent of Mary the Queen in Yonkers which is scheduled to close later this year.
According to Sister Jane Iannucelli, SC, president of the Sisters of Charity of New York, the decision by the Sisters of Charity board of directors to place their Sisters at Schervier Nursing Care Center followed an exhaustive and in-depth discernment process. “The excellent skilled nursing care, pastoral care, daily mass, and ability to maintain community life helped make the decision easier for us,” said Sister Jane.
Carlos G. Beato, chief executive officer of Bon Secours New York related, “We are humbled the Sisters of Charity have chosen Schervier as the home for their Sisters who need long-term skilled nursing care. It is an honor for us to serve them, and God, in this way.”
“Schervier is a wonderful gift,” said Sister Jane. “We are very happy with the hospitality and generosity extended to our Sisters. Everyone, from the chief executive officer, to admissions, social work, dietary, and nursing staff have made this a very smooth transition. We look forward to working together with Schervier to ensure our Sisters are well cared for.”
