Breast Care for Washington Teams with MagView Mammography Information System
Burtonsville, MD (PRWEB) May 14, 2014 -- MagView is the leader in mammography information solutions. MagView has engaged with a new non-profit in D.C., Breast Care for Washington, to create a personalized mammography monitoring and tracking system that will enable them to serve thousands of medically underserved women in D.C.
BCFW aims at addressing disproportionate breast cancer mortality rates among those who may not have health insurance or access to mammography. They were awarded the AVON Foundation Safety Net Hospital Grant in 2013 and have since teamed with MagView to effectively and efficiently track and manage their patient’s data.
BCFW is opening their brand new state-of-the-art facility on May 15th, 2014. When opened, BCFW will be the only provider of comprehensive breast cancer screening services in Ward 8. In 2015, BCFW plans on using a mobile unit known as SOPHIE that can be used in various clinics throughout the city to connect women with screening, diagnostic, and treatment, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.
MagView and Hologic, a manufacturer of medical systems and products, have both issued grants to BCFW to support their mission. MagView hopes to be a key asset to BCFW as they open their new facility, and help them to efficiently and effectively track and manage their patient population.
