Businesswoman Jackie Camacho-Ruiz Receives First Annual “Latinos 40 Under 40” Recognition
Naperville, Illinois (PRWEB) March 22, 2016 -- Jackie Camacho-Ruiz, owner of JJR Marketing in Naperville, receives the Latinos 40 Under 40 Award at the first annual “Latino 40 under 40” presentation and networking event Feb.18 at Nacional 27 in Chicago.
Latino 40 Under 40 is Negocios Now’s initiative to recognize outstanding members of the young Latino generation in the Chicago area. In 2014 the publication celebrated Hispanic leadership by launching the first Who's Who in Hispanic Chicago, a Special Edition and Gala event at the Chicago Cultural Center.
The 40 recipients were selected after a three-month nomination period, and they represent business, government, nonprofits, politics, sports and education, among other fields.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to showcase the positive contributions of these young Latinos, many of which are millennials,” says Clemente Nicado, publisher and editor in chief of Nicado Publishing Company, owner of Negocios Now. “These special men and women, the award’s first recipients, are truly paving the future for future Hispanic generations to admire and follow.”
Camacho-Ruiz explains that receiving this award reconnects her passion to serve the Latino community.
“Getting this award is just another example of the alignment that I feel with what I’m doing with my passion and how that passion has helped to elevate other people in the community,” she says. “I’m very humbled and honored to get that award and I will continue to use these award opportunities as a way to elevate others.”
Camacho-Ruiz also had an additional honor in receiving the Rémy Martin award that recognizes a multitalented individual living his or her passion. As part of its give back program, Rémy Martin also donated $1,000 to her nonprofit Fig Factor Foundation that helps Latinas to pursue their dreams by providing educational leadership platforms, mentorship and powerful experiences through a context of sisterhood.
“What an honor to be the only female to receive an additional award from Rémy Martin, a recognized brand,” she says. “This award recognizes that I’m a role model in the Hispanic community.”
