C5 Accelerate Enters into Partnership with SAP NS2™
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 18, 2017 -- C5 Accelerate (C5A), the Cloud Innovation Centre for best-of-breed startups, has today announced that it has entered into a new Innovation Partnership with SAP National Security Services, Inc. (SAP NS2™) the independent, US subsidiary SAP, and leading provider of national security enterprise technology. This partnership will further strengthen the work being done by C5A’s Washington PeaceTech Accelerator to identify and nurture rising stars within the global peacetech market. The Peacetech Accelerator is operated in partnership with Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) and PeaceTech Lab, and is focused on attracting and monitoring companies seeking to tackle national security issues and address the root causes of conflict, particularly in crisis zones.
SAP NS2 will be bringing to bear its expertise around cutting-edge technology, data management and advanced analytics. The partnership comes at an especially exciting and opportune time, with the second group of cohort companies set to enter the Peacetech Accelerator in September. This follows the success of the first cohort, which entered the accelerator in April 2017 and graduated in May. This solid foundation has led to 69 companies applying for the second cohort program. These companies went through a detailed review process before the top eight were selected to enter the program in mid-September. Cohorts will join the accelerator for eight weeks before presenting their investment case to the global investment community on November 1, 2017 in Washington D.C. Further details of the eight companies can be found in the appendix below.
SAP NS2 will also be participating in the inaugural Shield in the Cloud Innovation Challenge, hosted and managed by C5A, which is the first global anti-corruption challenge for the most innovative start-ups, corporations, not-for-profits and governments working in cloud-based technology to promote transparency and accountability compliance worldwide. Shield in the Cloud will run until December 2017 and the winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Washington D.C. on February 27, 2018.
Eva-Maria Dimitriadis, COO at C5A said, “The strength of any accelerator program lies in the mentors and instruction that they provide to young companies. We’re pleased to welcome such an influential name as SAP NS2 to the program as they have many important lessons to give our companies, as well as being able to provide concrete examples of how to be successful in the tech field. As the new companies join the program we’re really looking forward to see how their potential develops.”
Mark Testoni, President & CEO at SAP NS2 said, “Technology is empowering citizens in many areas of the world, enabling better transfer of information and creating more security, transparency and accountability. Whether the technology is used to counter terrorism, support law enforcement, reduce the cyber risk aperture or counter corruption, these efforts can result in safer and more stable communities. It’s important to us to be champion these impactful initiatives, and we are proud to be a part of the C5A Peacetech Accelerator program.”
