Cackle Hatchery Launches New Mobile-Friendly Website Built in Magento
Lebanon, Missouri (PRWEB) December 28, 2015 -- Since it was founded in Lebanon, Missouri in 1936, Cackle Hatchery has grown to become one of the largest hobby farm poultry mail order hatcheries in the country. Dealing primarily with retail sales to individuals raising backyard flocks and wholesaling to farm and ranch stores for resale, this third generation family owned and operated business ships nearly 200 varieties of poultry to customers throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Species of poultry sold include chickens, ducks, turkey guinea fowl and pheasants.
In recent years, online transactions have become an increasingly substantial component of the hatchery’s annual revenue stream. To keep pace with this emerging trend, Cackle Hatchery has recently launched a redesigned version of their website built in Magento.
Magento is a popular open-source content management system designed specifically for e-commerce websites. It has also been embraced by a number of big-name brands including Samsung, Goodyear, and Dockers. Cackle Hatchery’s management team is optimistic that the new design will facilitate faster, easier online transactions for its customer base.
The new website has also been designed to be mobile-friendly so that it can be easily accessed and browsed on a number of different devices including PCs, tablets and smartphones. The website retains the earlier yellow and blue aesthetic established by the company’s former site.
“Our old web site was 16 years old and it was time to upgrade our site to be mobile device friendly. We hope it will improve the functions and shopping experience for our customers,” said director of sales Jeff Smith. “We have worked in the background for 2 years developing and designing materials for our new web site. We hope you like our redesign and please be patient with us as we work out a few final details with function and design,” continued Smith.
