The affordable assisted living community, which is located in Maryville, Illinois, serves older adults of all incomes and is managed by BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
HFS is responsible for regulating Cambridge House and other communities that operate through the Illinois Supportive Living Program.
Cambridge House received the recognition after earning the deficiency-free score on its 2013 Healthcare and Family Services survey. The perfect survey results reflect efforts the community makes to meet industry standards and regulations while continuing to put residents first.
"Our emphasis at Cambridge House is helping residents maintain as much independence as possible for as long as possible by providing love, compassion and dignity in addition to the care and assistance they need," says Administrator Tracy Skaer-Henry.
“As an affordable assisted living community," she says, "we are proud of our ability to continue serving older adults of all incomes with the best possible assistance to ensure they live the best life possible in the comfort of their own apartment.”
Skaer-Henry described Cambridge House as a great alternative to nursing home care or to struggling alone at home for older adults who need some assistance to maintain their independence, but do not require skilled nursing home care.
Cambridge House of Maryville is one of three Cambridge House affordable assisted living communities in the St. Louis Metro East area and one of 36 senior living communities managed by senior living provider BMA Management, Ltd., the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
The communities combine residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, help with medications, and a variety of convenience and support services.
Residents live in private apartments that they furnish and decorate to their taste. Each of the one-bedroom and two-bedroom floor plans include a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning, and emergency alert system.
Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, are on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Meals, housekeeping and laundry are among the included services.
"Residents also benefit from all of the opportunities that are available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs," says Skaer-Henry.
