Capital One Supports Branches' ASSETS Program in Miami
MIAMI (PRWEB) January 10, 2018 -- Capital One recently donated a total of $15,000 to Branches as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community. Capital One believes in helping to build strong and healthy communities that benefit all, and they apply the same principles of innovation, collaboration and empowerment to the services they provide to the communities in which they do business.
Branches is a local non-profit organization based in Miami. By providing life-changing opportunities, Branches helps working poor families and their children break the cycle of generational poverty. Its Grow Program serves elementary students, preparing them for lifelong success through enrichment of their minds, bodies and hearts. The Climb Program serves middle and high school students, focusing on the development of their individual assets in order to maximize opportunities to become better students and better people. Branches’ Achieve Programs target the well-being of the entire community through services fostering financial stability. Services include the ASSETS small business solutions program, the Ways to Work car loan program, VITA tax prep and hunger relief. Branches is also proud to house and operate the United Way Center for Financial Stability.
The funds from Capital One will help Branches specifically fund its ASSETS program. ASSETS (A Service for Self Employment Training and Support) is Branches’ small business development program and provides a broad range of complimentary business advisory services to help clients tackle business challenges, achieve new levels of growth, as well as create jobs. Branches’ experienced Business Coaches provide one-on-one coaching and consulting services to micro-enterprises in business start-up or business expansion phases.
“With this grant, we are able to help small businesses and families achieve long-term financial stability and independence,” said Brent McLaughlin, Executive Director. “We’re honored to be a partner with Capital One and its associates and sincerely appreciate their desire to remain a concerned corporate citizen by supporting their local communities.”
Small-business development is a core component of Capital One’s Future Edge initiative. Through this initiative, launched in 2015, Capital One is focusing $150 million of community grants and initiatives over five years to advance small business development, skills for the 21st century, and financial well-being. The donation to Branches is one of the ways Future Edge is positively impacting South Florida. Capital One operates three cafes in South Florida – in Delray Beach, West Palm Beach and the Miracle Mile. Capital One Cafés are inviting spaces where you can go to bank, get answers to your financial questions, recharge your devices, or simply connect with people.
