Case Management Professionals Serve Crucial Role in Providing Better Health Outcomes
Belleville, IL (PRWEB) October 10, 2013 -- Case management programs provide better health outcomes, increased patient satisfaction and reduced costs, according to the American Case Management Association (ACMA). ACMA and Allsup, a nationwide provider of Social Security disability representation, veterans disability appeal and Medicare plan selection services, will observe National Case Management Week Oct. 13-19.
The theme for 2013 National Case Management Week is “Broadening the Continuum of Care.” ACMA supports the continuum of care by providing innovative professional development services, creating new opportunities for networking, and influencing legislation related to the practice of case management in hospitals and health systems.
National Case Management Week recognizes the essential role case managers play in clinical assessment, care coordination, patient education, counseling, case monitoring/clinical pathway management, discharge planning, resource management and patient advocacy. For more information on National Case Management Week, as well as tools and resources to promote this special week of recognition, go to http://www.acmaweb.org/CMweek.
“During National Case Management Week and all year long, we highly value the dedication, compassion and achievements of case management professionals within hospitals and health systems,” said Karen Hercules-Doerr, director of Community-Based Representatives at Allsup.
Allsup serves as an important resource for case managers in helping their insured patients get questions answered and claims expedited for disability benefits, Hercules-Doerr added. Visit http://www.Allsupcares.com for referral source testimonials.
Following National Case Management Week, ACMA will provide resources to case managers during its 2013 Leadership Conference on Nov. 6-7 in Las Vegas. Industry experts and hospital case management leaders will discuss community partnerships, and provide tools, examples and successful models that can be replicated and incorporated into attendees’ current practices. This year’s theme is “Transitions of Care.” Find more information at http://www.acmaweb.org/leadership.
