Cavern Technologies Building Out Space & Building Up C-Suite
Kansas City & Lenexa, KS (PRWEB) October 17, 2016 -- 2016 is shaping up to be a year of historic growth for Cavern Technologies, a data center enterprise based in the underground Meritex complex in Lenexa, Kansas, in the Kansas City region. Cavern was founded in 2007 by Peter (Pete) Clune, Jr. and John Clune. Pete Clune has served as CEO and John Clune as President since day one. Together, they have grown Cavern to become a premier provider of build-to-suit data center and colocation solutions serving enterprise clients across the U.S. Earlier this year, Pete Clune transitioned to the role of Chairman, where he remains active in the executive direction of the company. With that move, John Clune added CEO to his title and responsibilities. This shift, along with an increase in new business, sparked the addition of two new C-level positions - VP of Facilities Engineering and VP of Finance & Administration – along with a build out of additional data center space in their underground development.
Cavern recruited top local talent.
Mike McDaniel was named VP of Facilities Engineering. McDaniel oversees capital planning, data center site engineering, and expansions across Cavern’s underground IT real estate development properties. In his previous role with CRBE, McDaniel managed Critical Environment Properties for Fortune 500 clients including AT&T and Bank of America. Annie Noland was recruited as Cavern’s VP of Finance and Administration. Noland manages finance, marketing, and business operations. Noland was previously President of Generation Technologies, a cloud-based content management service for television networks. There, she led engineers and developers in the transition to a service-based model for news content exchange, overseeing strategic planning, new product development, operations, sales, marketing, and finance.
Breaking ground underground.
In response to demand for their highly secure, state-of-the-art data center services strategically located in the Midwest, Cavern recently launched buildout of 40,000 additional square feet in the underground complex. The buildout includes 16,000 square feet of raised floor white space, parallel redundant power and cooling infrastructure, and will feature the latest UPS flywheel technology, along with other cutting-edge building automation and security enhancements. The new space will be ready for client occupancy in February 2017.
A foundation for growth.
Having built the company from ground up, Chairman, Pete Clune, is excited about the changes and direction of the organization, “I have complete confidence in the entire Cavern team. I have worked alongside our core team since the beginning and am delighted with the addition of Mike and Annie. It’s clear all are dedicated to maintaining the culture of excellence that we’ve established, not only for our current customers, but those we will be serving with our new buildout and beyond,” states Pete Clune. “John, in his role as President and CEO, will continue charting a course of growth for Cavern.”
