Christer Ackerman writes new guide to manager-employee relations
STOCKHOLM (PRWEB) July 10, 2015 -- Author Christer Ackerman sheds light on both sides of the corporate coin in his new two-part business book, “The Manager and the Employee” (published by Lulu).
With a split format where one half of the book was written for managers and leaders and the other was written for employees, Ackerman’s book essentially has two front covers. Readers can flip the book one way and read about how to become a better manager; flipping the book over itself reveals a second book about how to become a better employee.
“The book challenges conventional thinking, introduces new ideas and fosters positive change,” Ackerman says. “The common quest is to change the underlying beliefs, mindsets, institutions and structures that hold back managers and employees.”
In the book’s managerial portion, Ackerman points out various strengths managers seek in employees, including responsibility, loyalty, a proactive attitude, motivation and cooperation. On the flip side, a list of preferable qualities employees like to see in managers is presented: confidence-inspiring, fair, open, motivating and clear.
The book gives practical examples of how both sides of the employee-manager relationship can develop and improve their contributions to the success of any business.
