Client Partners with Hospice Savannah to Produce Caregiver Video
Savannah, GA (PRWEB) October 25, 2013 -- Hospice Savannah, Inc., the community-based not for profit hospice founded in 1979, has partnered with Walker Media Management to produce a video for caregivers entitled “People with a Gift for Helping™.”
In gratitude for the compassionate care extended to his mother by Hospice Savannah, Jeff Walker, owner of Walker Media Management, donated his time and expertise to film and edit the production. He explains that his mother was an extremely dignified, southern lady, and more than anything else, his family appreciated the dignity and graciousness extended to her by the hospice’s staff and volunteers. His goal is to educate caregivers about the extensive range of services available to them and their loved ones and to encourage them to call for help sooner rather than later.
The 12-minute video interviews several caregivers, including Mrs. Burl Womack who admits she was scared to call hospice as she “had always heard that hospice was for the end of the journey,” and a daughter who tries to dispel this and other misconceptions about end-of-life care commonly held within her own African-American community. She enthusiastically lists the many services she and her mother receive before finally exclaiming, “What more can I ask for?” Time and again, the message is to reach out for help much, much earlier as there is such a great deal of support available.
