CLS Products Expands Slip Form Curb Machine Sector Offering New Mechanical Extruders

Having a global presence since 2007 and in business since 2002, CLS Products now offers an entry level lineup of commercial curbing machines using mechanical extruder technology whereas concrete is introduced into a hopper at the top of each model and a plunger forces or extrudes the mix through a mold profile or shoe continuously without the use of wood or steel forms.
CLS Products addition of models CLS750, CLS900 and CLS1200 gives customers more options when considering a concrete curbing machine. Priced far less then their slip form models CLS200 and CLS600, the mechanical models can produce commercial curbs from 6” – 60” and New Jersey Barriers up to 48” tall.

Steve first introduced a small landscape garden-curbing machine in 2005 with great success. The ease of use of the small extruder models CLS650 and CLS820XG gave him the idea to source a manufacturer that produced a mechanical line of commercial extruders using quality components and engineering for continuous use in the field
A contractor looking for curb machines have historically been hand-forming curbs. This process is very time consuming, costly and very labor intensive. The option to use a curb machine at an affordable price point increases the bottom line of these contractors producing on average five times daily production versus hand forming with only three to four laborers.
Slip form curb machines can prove more costly. CLS Products models CLS200 and CLS600 use vibration to slip the curb through a mold profile. These models operate automatically using sensors for steering, height control and slope control which rest on a string line set by the contractor.
“There are many contractors that simply do not need this level of technology and cost,” Caldwell says. “As long as your grade is set, you can use our mechanical models to extrude the curb that other wise would have been hand-formed”.
The mechanical models CLS750, CLS900 and CLS1200 by CLS Products will produce on average 500-1500 linear feet in one day with an average of three to four workers eliminating form work all together.
