CodaKid Introduces Kids Online Minecraft Coding Course
Scottsdale, Ariz. (PRWEB) April 19, 2016 -- CodaKid, a leading kids coding academy for ages 7 to 15, today announced the official launch of CodaKid Minecraft Modding Fundamentals, a self-paced, online Java programming course for kids. In Modding Fundamentals, kids learn how to create over 16 custom Minecraft mods using the Java programming language, which they can then load into the Minecraft game and share with family or friends.
“CodaKid has a deep expertise in one area - kids computer programming education," said David Dodge, CEO of CodaKid. “CodaKid’s Minecraft Modding Fundamentals is the most academic Minecraft Modding course of its kind, and it is an absolutely fantastic, very fun way for young kids to learn coding,” said Dodge.
Dodge, a video game designer and software architect with credits on over 30 titles for Sony Playstation, PC, and multiple Sega consoles, founded CodaKid with the vision that kids as young as age 7 can learn to code. “While many kids coding courses teach kids how to copy and paste code or feature watered-down drag and drop interfaces, we believe that today’s tech savvy students are capable of more than this. Our kids learn the concepts that professional programmers use on a daily basis, and they learn how to write real code using professional grade programming tools,” said Dodge.
“I have taken lots of online coding classes, and CodaKid’s Minecraft Modding Fundamentals is the one that taught me the most about computer programming,” said CodaKid student Andrew Blankenship, age 13. “They really explain the concepts and I am now able to actually make my own mods outside of the course,” said Blankenship.
CodaKid’s Minecraft Modding Fundamentals features:
- Java Programming Instruction on key concepts such as Conditionals, Loops, Variables, Methods, Arrays, and more
- Over 40 instructional videos including breakout videos on key coding concepts
- 10+ Hours of HD Videos and 40+ hours of Student Projects
