CollegeOnTrack Grows Into Maia, a K-12 Student Engagement System
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) September 08, 2015 -- Maia is the evolution of CollegeOnTrack: a student-centered college and career readiness platform that schools and after-school program providers have used since 2012. Maia provides enhanced College & Career guidance and planning capabilities, and now helps manage Classrooms and Student Information as well. A streamlined interface works on computers and mobile devices, and makes Maia easy to learn and use.
College, Career, and Calendar
Maia’s College and Career modules guide students toward careers using built-in personality and multiple-intelligence assessments, and let them find post-secondary training to prepare for the futures they envision. Maia helps students:
• Plan classes, post-secondary and career goals, and activities, to be ready for life after high school
• Document progress with digital portfolios
• Research colleges and vocational training opportunities
• Find scholarships
• Manage college applications
The Calendar module tracks meetings, commitments, and deadlines; and offers optional SMS alerts. It helps build time and event management skills.
Counselors use Maia to create individual education plans; and advise on goals, college choices, and essays. They save time by letting Maia handle recommendation and transcript requests, manage college visits, and organize meetings and events.
Classroom
Maia’s Classroom module helps teachers be more effective by handling:
• Attendance
• Grading
• Lessons, homework, and project assignments
Maia Classroom can use Common Core or custom grading rubrics. It stores coursework and quiz libraries for teachers to assign, manages timed group discussions, and keeps students appraised of assignments and deadlines. It cuts administration workloads by handling student and master schedules, course catalogs, and (optional) electronic transcript submission through Parchment.
Student Information
Maia’s Student Information module manages enrollment packages; and holds student contact, demographic, and emergency information. It can store all of a school’s permission agreements for activities, internet access, and so on.
Maia’s modules work together with a single login and common look and feel. They exchange data easily with schools’ existing Student Information (SIS) and Learning Management (LMS) systems, and can function on their own as well. Reporting capabilities provide mandated reports and help measure usage and effectiveness.
Marketing VP Phil Roybal says, “Maia helps schools engage and develop students, and lets counselors’ better manage large case loads.” CollegeOnTrack client schools will automatically migrate to Maia’s College & Career modules, and can optionally add the Classroom and Student Information modules at any time.
The company is offering a special promotion for the first 20 new client schools: $2,500 for the first year's subscription to Maia's College and Career package. This is a savings of up to $4,500.
Maia is a product of ServiceInfinity Inc., like CollegeOnTrack. It will be shown at the National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC) conference in San Diego in late September.
