Colorado Wines to be Featured at Taste of the Broncos
Denver, Colo (PRWEB) June 09, 2016 -- The Colorado Wine Industry Development Board (CWIDB) announced today that it will partner with the Denver Broncos to provide a selection of locally produced Colorado wines for the second annual Taste of the Broncos presented by Nationwide Insurance, a gourmet tailgate for a cause, taking place at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Tuesday, June 14, from 6:30 p.m to 9:00 p.m. with VIP access beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Taste of the Broncos, held at the Noble Energy Sports Legends Mall on the south end of the stadium, will allow patrons to enjoy food and drink from approximately 35 Colorado restaurants. Proceeds from the event will benefit Food Bank of the Rockies, a Broncos flagship community partner, as well as Denver Broncos Charities.
The CWIDB and the Denver Broncos carefully selected six Governor’s Cup Gold Medal-winning wines for patrons to pair with food from Denver’s most highly regarded chefs. For the second year, revered Denver Chef and restauranteur Troy Guard will serve as the lead chef for the event. Wines from Bookcliff Vineyards (Boulder), Boulder Creek Winery (Boulder), Creekside Cellars (Evergreen), Guy Drew Vineyards (Cortez) and Plum Creek Cellars (Palisade) will be available by the glass. Leading members of the Colorado wine industry will also be available to discuss food and drink offerings with patrons as well as pour samples of Colorado’s diverse wine landscape.
"This event is an exciting opportunity for Denver Broncos fans to celebrate their Super Bowl Champions with a glass of local Colorado wine,” said Doug Caskey, Executive Director of the CWIDB. “The wines that have been selected for this event showcase the wonderful caliber of Colorado wines, and I am eager to see the results of this year’s Governor’s Cup competition which will take place in July.”
9News’ Cheryl Preheim will emcee Taste of the Broncos on behalf of the event’s media partner and there will be opportunities to meet Broncos players, coaches, alumni, cheerleaders and Miles the Mascot. Entertaining guests throughout the evening will be the Blue Canyon Boys.
“Taste of the Broncos represents the best of what Colorado has to offer from a culinary perspective and we are thrilled to showcase Colorado wines at this year’s event,” said Cindy Kellogg, Vice President of Community Development for the Denver Broncos.
