SmileCareClub uses a series of customized invisible aligners to gradually shift teeth into place over a period of several months. The invisible aligners are created from dental impressions that the consumer makes at home, thereby avoiding costly and time-consuming trips to the orthodontist.

Hudson said the company chose to use an Indiegogo campaign because it offers the most direct channel for reaching tech-savvy early adopters.
“Although many companies use Indiegogo as a crowdfunding source, we’re not using this campaign to raise money,” Hudson said. “We are exploring this channel as a means to reach a specific demographic and build excitement for SmileCareClub.”
