Criser Elected National Chairman of Non-profit Board
Tampa, Fla (PRWEB) December 31, 2013 -- AMIkids, Inc. has announced that Mark J. Criser, Esq. was elected to serve as the National Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the non-profit organization for a term of two years.
“Community-based prevention and intervention programs, like AMIkids, are essential to transforming the lives of our kids,” Criser said of the organization. He continued, “I have seen the absolute dedication the AMIkids staff and volunteers have, the hard work they put toward the mission, and the tremendous impact that work has had on the lives of kids, families and communities. I am proud to serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and to lead a national network of volunteers as we work to help raise awareness and dollars to support AMIkids.”
A graduate of University of Florida and University of Florida College of Law, Criser is a Shareholder and the Practice co-leader in Hill Ward Henderson’s Litigation Group. Upon graduating from law school, Mark served as a Staff Attorney for the Honorable Major B. Harding, Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court. Since coming to Tampa in 2000, Criser has represented several national insurance companies and law firms, as well as multi-national corporations. Criser is active in both professional and Bar-related activities. He has presented seminars for the Hillsborough County Bar Association, The Defense Research Institute, the Eastern Claims Conference, and the Western Claims Conference. He currently serves as a member of The Florida Bar's Grievance Committee (Group 13E), and as a member of The Florida Bar's Professional Ethics Committee.
Criser is also active in the Tampa Bay community. In addition to his new role as National Chairman of the AMIkids Board of Trustees, he also serves on the Board of Trustees for AMIkids Tampa. As a result of his efforts and contributions in that role, Criser was awarded AMIkids’ Excellence in Governance Award in 2013 and 2006 and Excellence in Leadership Award in 2010. Most recently, Criser was selected to participate in Leadership Florida, Class XXXII.
As National Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AMIkids, Criser will be charged with guiding a volunteer group of local business, civic and community leaders representing 40 communities in seven states as they work to help the AMIkids organization through fundraising, community awareness, policymaker education and governance roles.
