CTL Announces the All New CTL NL6 Education Chromebook
Beaverton, OR (PRWEB) June 18, 2015 -- CTL® has introduced a new NL6 Education Chromebook that includes a 180-degree hinge and faster quad core Intel N2940 processor, which is up to 70% faster than the dual core N2830 processor with 1 MB cache used by many other popular Chromebooks.
The original CTL NL6 Education Chromebook was announced at last year’s International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference in Atlanta, Georgia and was the result of a collaboration between CTL and Intel®. The original CTL NL6 Education Chromebook was one of the first Chromebooks designed specifically for education and CTL was one of the first companies to bring it to market. The new NL6 Chromebook for Education will be on display at this year’s ISTE 2015 conference in Philadelphia, PA June 29 - July 1 in the CTL booth (#138).
“In just a year’s time, the CTL NL6 Chromebook for Education has become a top seller with our education customers and has helped to earn CTL public sector contract awards including NASPO ValuePoint (formerly WSCA/NASPO) and Digital Edge,” said CTL’s Chief Operating Officer, Erik Stromquist. “The faster processor and 180-degree hinge in the new NL6 are enhancements to meet the growing needs of our education customers.”
The CTL NL6 Education Chromebook features security, long battery life and an easy-to-use interface. The drop-resistant design with non-slip texture and retractable carry handle help this Chromebook to withstand the rigors of classroom environments.
Designed for Education with Unique Features that Promote Learning
The CTL Education Chromebook is quick to deploy and contains built-in apps that give students the tools to collaborate on presentations, reports and spreadsheets. Teachers can easily monitor student progress and streamline communications. The rotatable camera is a valuable tool for science labs or video presentations. The optional snap-on lens attaches to the camera, offering 30X magnification (enough to see the color of a fruit fly’s eye or the crystal structure on raw sugar). With up to 9.5 hours of battery life, students can enjoy uninterrupted learning all day.
Other education-specific features include:
- Retractable handle (can hang in a locker)
- Anti-glare screen to reduce student eyestrain
- Ergonomic keyboard
- Available with Chrome Device Management License for classroom management
Less than 8 Second Boot and a Whole Lot of Rugged
The 16GB SSD provides a boot time under 8 seconds and quick resuming from sleep, meaning more efficient use of classroom time. The CTL Education Chromebook has been drop tested from heights up to 70cm (desktop height). The water-resistant keyboard channels liquids (up to 11.16oz.) away from the electronics to prevent damage and the sealed touchpad protects electronics from moisture and spills. Other ruggedization features include:
- Reinforcement around ports and hinges
- Non-slip texture
- Anti-peel keys
- Fanless design
Easy to Maintain and Keep Secure
IT departments can easily deploy the CTL Education Chromebooks and the built-in Google Apps stay up-to-date automatically. There is no need to install updates or patches and security and software updates install automatically so students and teachers don’t waste valuable learning time. Multiple login capability gives students their own personalized apps, settings and bookmarks when they log in so a Chromebook can be shared without fear of unauthorized data access or altered settings.
Additional Features include:
- IntelⓇ CeleronⓇ N2940 (2M Cache, up to 2.16 GHz – Quad Core – No Fan)
