DataSite Orlando to Start Major Expansion
San Diego, CA and Orlando, FL (PRWEB) November 06, 2015 -- DataSite has started construction of its fourth phase of upgrades to the DataSite Orlando data center. DataSite owns and operates mission-critical data center facilities in Orlando Florida, Atlanta Georgia and Boise Idaho and has been on an aggressive facility expansion plan. The latest round of upgrades to the DataSite Orlando facility will deliver 2 additional Megawatts of UPS power and an additional 2.5 Megawatt diesel generator to the central Florida facility. This upgrade comes on the heels of the last major addition that included 2 megawatts of UPS, 5 megawatts of backup generators and an additional chiller plant which was completed in July 2014.
“DataSite Orlando’s continued expansion is in direct response to the ongoing demand for critical IT facility space in Central Florida. High power density super-computing systems that exceed 80kW/rack have utilized a considerable amount of existing capacity in the DataSite Orlando facility. DataSite will continue to meet the needs of the rapidly growing IT industry in the state of Florida,” says, Robert Wilson, Vice President of DataSite.
These critical facility additions will increase the UPS power capacity of the DataSite Orlando facility to a total of 8 Megawatts with a power plant capable of delivering 14 MW. The DataSite Orlando facility also delivers other highly desired features such as a Category 5 hurricane wind rating and a location that is 60 miles inland and 100 feet above sea level, thus keeping critical IT systems out of harm’s way from coastal storm surges. The windowless exterior coupled with 8 inch thick, steel reinforced, concrete walls protects a facility which is fed via two diverse underground utility feeds on separate transmission grids and is backed up by a 16 megawatt generator plant.
DataSite’s service record has been instrumental in establishing a brand synonymous with customer loyalty and, in turn, this loyalty has created a culture which attracts new clients to the facility. The extensive expansion efforts will be completed in the first quarter of 2016 enabling new tenant installs through the year.
