Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) Reaccredits Penn Foster Through January 2020
Scranton, PA (PRWEB) April 14, 2016 -- Penn Foster, a leader in career-focused online and blended learning solutions for today’s workforce, today announced that the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) has renewed its accreditation through January 2020. The announcement was made by Frank Britt, CEO, Penn Foster, Inc.
“This is a very significant achievement, as accreditation is the cornerstone of our institution,” said Britt. “Affirmation from the DEAC in the highly demanding environment of compliance and regulatory dynamics confers that we meet/exceed high standards of quality.”
Britt added: “Accreditation by the DEAC helps students, their future schools and employers, as well as our partners, confirm the validity of our programs of study and proof of our earned credentials from a highly reputable organization.”
DEAC institutions are known to have highly sophisticated and well developed student services, carefully crafted curricula, and world-class faculty. They deliver on their promises.
In issuing its renewal of accreditation, the DEAC noted: “Penn Foster has demonstrated its commitment to educational standards and ethical business practices that assure quality, accountability, and improvement in higher education.”
“As the only accrediting organization dedicated exclusively to quality assurance for distance education delivered worldwide, DEAC sets high standards for academic quality and inspires excellence in teaching, learning, and student outcomes through voluntary assessment and peer review,” said Leah Mathews, executive director, DEAC. “We are pleased to continue to accredit Penn Foster, as they meet the high standards the DEAC expects.”
Accreditation is a public notification that an institution and a program meet the quality standards set forth by the accrediting body, and evaluated against a predetermined set of criteria. The Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools also renewed Penn Foster Career School and Penn Foster High School’s accreditation through April 2020.
