Districts Can Now Manage Digital Content with Curriculum Foundry from Learning.com
Portland, Ore. (PRWEB) February 23, 2015 -- As a growing number of school districts are undertaking the daunting task of transitioning to digital content, Learning.com announces that Curriculum Foundry, a solution that helps districts access, organize and share digital resources, is now ready for full-scale district implementation. Through this solution’s comprehensive set of lesson- and unit-development tools, districts can build and share their own curriculum.
To help districts start building curriculum, Curriculum Foundry includes a searchable content repository of vetted open education resources (OER) and other free digital resources covering core K-12 subjects. Curriculum Foundry also features single sign-on, enabling students and teachers to easily access digital content in their repository. Once districts have created their own curriculum using Curriculum Foundry, they can export their content via Thin Common Cartridge to be used in a number of compatible existing learning systems.
“Many districts are eager to use digital content but are challenged with organizing content from various sources into lessons and units that can be easily shared across the district,” said Learning.com CEO Keith Oelrich. “With Curriculum Foundry’s repository of quality digital content and comprehensive toolset, districts can build digital curriculum that can be easily accessed by teachers and students.”
Curriculum Foundry allows districts to add their own digital resources and third-party content to the repository. SAS® Curriculum Pathways® is the first third-party provider, offering interactive tools, resources and apps in all core disciplines for grades K-12 at no cost.
“SAS Curriculum Pathways provides more than 1,250 engaging learning resources that are mapped to state standards,” said Scott McQuiggan, director of SAS Curriculum Pathways. “Curriculum Foundry provides districts with the unique opportunity to create their own digital curriculum using our high-quality content in conjunction with other digital resources.”
Learning.com provides comprehensive professional development and training resources to ensure districts can effectively deploy Curriculum Foundry in all of their schools and classrooms.
