Dr. Greg Lamka joins PathSensors Scientific Advisory Board
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) April 27, 2016 -- PathSensors, Inc., a leading environmental testing company, has appointed Greg Lamka, PhD to its Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Lamka will assist PathSensors in expanding the use of the company’s CANARY® technology in the field of plant pathogen detection.
PathSensors deploys the CANARY® test platform for the detection of harmful pathogens, including a number of bacteria, viruses, toxins, fungi, and other agents that cause serious diseases in plants. The company is working with a number of partners on the development of assays for additional plant pathogens and a multi-sample testing platform for high throughput and multiplex detection of plant pathogens.

Dr. Lamka joins the PathSensors Scientific Advisory Board after 22 years at Dupont Pioneer Hi-Bred International. During that time he held positions including Global Seed Treatment Strategy Manager, Global Phytosanitary Regulatory Manager, and Global Quality Assurance Manager. Dr. Lamka has been recognized for his efforts through the DuPont Engineering Excellence Award, ASTA President’s Distinguished Service Award, Iowa Seed Association Distinguished Service Award, and the American Phytopathological Society’s Excellence in Industry Award.

Dr. Lamka has over 40 years experience in the seed industry. He has domestic and international experience due to the breadth of positions he has held. Additionally he has served the entire seed industry through numerous committees and other roles: chairperson, Board of Directors of the Iowa Seed Association; long time active member of the American Seed Trade Association Phytosanitary Committee and the Seed Treatment & Environment Committee; chairperson, International Seed Federation Seed Applied Technology Committee (global education on the benefits of seed treatments, develops documents on the proper and safe use of treatments, and harmonization of regulations involving the movement of treated seed across international borders); active member of the ISF phytosanitary committee, and member of the International Seed Federation Board of Directors. Dr. Lamka holds a BS in agronomy and MS and PhD degrees in plant pathology, from Iowa State University.
