Manchester, NH (PRWEB) May 12, 2014 -- Dyn, the worldwide leader in Internet performance solutions, announced today that they have successfully executed 21 successive quarters of revenue growth dating back to 2009, when the company launched its current Go To Market strategy.
Business Growth
The company also saw 46% revenue growth in their first quarter (the quarter ending March 31, 2014) over the same time period in 2013.
“I think the numbers tell a compelling story,” said Kyle York, Dyn Chief Revenue Officer. “Customers around the world – from cloud native to traditional enterprise IT – have found a need and value in our services. As end user expectations continue to rise, there will be an even greater emphasis on the need for exceptional Internet performance. We feel we are well positioned to help connect companies to the next generation Internet.”
This growth was fueled by the addition of new customers. During their first quarter, Dyn added approximately 81,000 new customers, both businesses and consumers.
They additionally saw upgrades in service from long-time customers, like Tealium, a leader in enterprise tag management and solutions that power real-time unified marketing initiatives.
“Dyn provides high performing, rock solid DNS with features such as real time traffic manager to route traffic to our fastest CDN by region, and Traffic Director with accurate geographic targeting for areas needing special attention,” said Mike Anderson, co-founder and CTO of Tealium. "Dyn helps ensure that we provide the fastest and most scalable tag delivery architecture for our global client base."
New Hires
In Q1, Dyn also saw some considerable employee growth, as the company hired 41 new people. One of those employees is Katie Curtin-Mestre who was hired to be Dyn’s new VP, Marketing Communications. Prior to joining Dyn, Katie was a VP of Marketing at Acme Packet, an industry leader in the telecommunications segment. She has previously held leadership positions at HP and EMC.
APAC office
Additionally, Dyn hired Martin Ryan, former CEO of MetaCDN, as their Managing Director for their newly opened Asia Pacific office in Sydney, Australia. Dyn already has more than 90,000 customers in this region but will be looking to build out their presence there over the next year.
“Dyn has a strong reputation as being a leader in Internet performance solutions,” Ryan said. “My job is to bring that reputation to the Asia Pacific region. What Dyn does well: their engineering excellence, their devotion to customer service and their strong business culture resonates in every corner of the world.”
Acquisition
While Dyn continues to expand globally, it also spent Q1 consolidating the DNS marketplace in the United States. In Q1, Dyn acquired Nettica, a US-based managed DNS provider with more than 9,000 clients, including Evernote, a suite of software and services designed for notetaking and archiving.
“Dyn has a long track record of offering reliable DNS services, and has continued to grow its revenue both organically and through acquisition,” said Jim Davis, a Senior Analyst with 451 Research. “By Dyn's own measure, only a small percentage of Fortune 500 customers use outsourced DNS services. An increasingly complex mix of on-premises and cloud-based applications suggests that premium managed DNS will be one of the tools used to manage app performance.”
