DynaSis Debuts Strategic Technology Review as Official Service Offering
(PRWEB) July 12, 2016 -- DynaSis, Atlanta’s premier provider of IT services and support for small and midsized businesses (SMBs), today announced that its Strategic Technology Review (STR) program, formerly available only to companies that signed contracts with the firm, will now be available as an on-demand service for all organizations. STR is a powerful, best-practices framework and reporting service designed as a top-to-bottom review and examination of a company’s systems, network and other IT infrastructure. It was designed to identify areas of improvement and remediation, from vulnerabilities to dangerously outdated hardware and more. The STR service was built from the ground up utilizing a cloud-based reporting tool to enhance executive visibility and understanding.
“The Strategic Technology Review is a very granular inspection, driven by our best practices framework, to identify the ‘holes’ in an organization’s technology that could put its business operation and continuity at risk,” said DynaSis President Dave Moorman. “We are looking for both the little problems that hamper productivity and the big issues that could bring an organization to its knees.”
For the STR, DynaSis performs a 200+ point inspection of corporate IT infrastructure, based on information collected at the site by DynaSis engineers, and provides answers to stakeholders’ questions as obtained by DynaSis advisors. With this information, DynaSis can create a baseline of the organization’s current systems and network conditions. It can also make recommendations for both curative repairs and proactive improvements that will maximize system efficiency and uptime, increase worker productivity, reduce the odds of system failure and minimize unplanned IT investment.
Some of the information processed for review and potential action includes:
• The current state of infrastructure components, including operating system versions, warranties and “end of support” dates;
• The importance of servers and other hardware in daily operations to help prioritize upgrades and identify the need for swift action in the event of unplanned failure.
• The versions and upgrade paths of firewalls and other security elements, with recommendations for mitigating vulnerabilities that currently exist.
• Unauthorized hardware operating on the network, such as rogue access points.
• Physical limitations and vulnerabilities ranging from inadequately secured server hardware cabinets to inadequate fire suppression that places hardware at risk.
“We notify business owners of everything we find so they can decide whether and when to effect improvements. They are often amazed at what we uncover,” said Moorman. “Occasionally, a vulnerability—such problems with building systems or design—may not be practical to fix. However, by knowing about them, the business owners can revise their approaches to acknowledge and plan for them.”
