Edwin Lou Javius of EdEquity Inc. Set to Present in 13th APBS International Conference
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) November 10, 2015 -- Edwin Lou Javius, Founder/President/CEO of EDEquity Inc., has been selected to present his latest research developments in Educational Equity at the Association for Positive Behavior Support (APBS) 13th International Conference this March 2016 in San Francisco, California.
His featured paper in the 13th APBS International Conference entitled, "What Is It About Me That You Can't Teach?" aims to aggressively examine the impact of race and culture as a preventive strategy in addressing the learning and behavioral needs of students of color in urban educational settings.
As the driving force behind EDEquity Inc., an educational consulting firm based in San Jose, CA, Edwin Lou Javius has been successful in helping educators here and abroad to close the racial achievement gap and encourage culturally-conscious leadership through equity-based leadership and classroom instructional support. EDEquity works to implement its key principles, as well as provide successful and positive educational experiences for all students by targeting its assistance to both high- and low-performing districts and schools.
A graduate of University of California, Berkeley, Javius holds a Master's Degree in Urban Leadership from Fresno Pacific University and a Doctorate in Urban School Leadership from the University of Southern California. He is also the recipient of several awards, including California’s first statewide School Administrator Valuing Diversity Award in 2001 and NAACP’s Silicon Valley’s Educator of the Year Award in 2010.
With over a thousand participants from all over the world, the annual APBS conference is recognized as the premier Positive Behavior Support (PBS) event of its kind. This year, APBS is scheduled to feature over 150 oral presentations, posters, preconference and skill-building workshops highlighting empirical findings, assessment and intervention methods, current topics, and other aspects of Positive Behavior Support.
