EmbraceScotland Invites Bloggers to 'TasteYeBack'
(PRWEB UK) 24 September 2013 -- Centring around Edinburgh, Fife, Perthshire and Argyll, the #TasteYeBack blogger trip hosted by EmbraceScotland later this month aims to showcase the fantastic food, outdoor experience and self-catering accommodation on offer in Scotland. The three day trip, from 30th September to 2nd October, will give eight travel bloggers from the Travel Blog Exchange a bite-sized experience of Scotland, and concludes with a free-to-attend travel networking event and cook-off tasting at Melville Castle. The bloggers will write about their experiences using the hashtag #TasteYeBack.
The trip’s focus on the delights of Scottish food follows recent heightened promotion of Scottish produce, with September’s Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight, the launch of the country’s first Food and Drink Trail and announcement of the new VisitScotland ‘Taste Our Best’ quality assurance scheme. The bloggers will be given an introduction to cooking with Scottish ingredients, before taking cookery lessons and foraging for food. They will then have the chance to show off their culinary skills in the cook-off at Melville Castle.
No trip to Scotland would be complete without experiencing the beauty and splendour of the great Scottish outdoors. A variety of exhilarating outdoor activities have been lined up for the bloggers, including bungee jumping with Highland Fling Bungee, rock climbing/abseiling with Experiential and land-yachting down the famous West Sands beach in St Andrews, with the aptly named Blown Away.
EmbraceScotland is the marketing arm of the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers, the key sponsor of #TasteYeBack. The bloggers will stay in quality assured rural self-catering and Edinburgh city apartments found on EmbraceScotland, demonstrating that self-catering accommodation is ideal for those seeking freedom, flexibility and authenticity from their holiday.
David Smythe, Chairman of the ASSC, said, “We felt the quality and independence offered by Scottish self-catering would be ideally suited to free-thinking international travel bloggers, so we came up with #TasteYeBack. We were inspired by last year’s #Blogmanay which set the twittersphere alight, and want to do something similar for the self-catering, food and outdoors of Scotland”.
Travel writers, food bloggers, holiday home owners and those involved with the Scottish tourism industry are invited to join the TBEx bloggers and EmbraceScotland/ASSC at the free networking evening on 1st October. Full details at http://www.embracescotland.co.uk/taste.
