Empire Precision Expands Automotive, Medical, Lean Manufacturing Expertise
Rochester, NY (PRWEB) February 22, 2016 -- Empire Precision Plastics, a precision molder of optic and intricate molded components, has hired new engineering and manufacturing managers as part of their ongoing expansion.
John Meabon, an RJG Master Molder and Empire’s new Tooling & Engineering Manager, has more than 30 years of experience in plastic mold design and management for medical device, automotive, housewares and other industries. As engineering manager, he helps ensure that customers’ opaque plastic parts and optics are designed for manufacturability and that tooling, whether built in-house or transferred, goes online quickly.
“John’s technical knowledge, as well as his extensive experience in the industries we serve, will be invaluable to our customers,” said Neal Elli, president of Empire Precision. “We are thrilled to have him on the team.”
Meabon said he is excited about the opportunity to “move the company in a positive direction” and to help customers “make a difference” with their products, particularly medical devices.
“In the medical device field, we have a direct impact on people,” he said. “There’s more of a connection to the products outside of work, and that’s really rewarding.”
Two other new hires are Manufacturing Manager Scott Taylor and Project Manager Jeff Duell. Like Meabon, they also have more than 30 years of experience in their fields.
Taylor has previously managed a wide range of high volume, low volume, and precision manufacturing operations in a variety of markets, both nationally and globally. His expertise includes lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and Kanban. As manufacturing manager, he works with Empire’s manufacturing team to make sure that all operations, from production to shipping, run smoothly.
“I look forward to bringing a renewed focus on continuous improvement – and making it a fun place to work,” Taylor said.
Duell is a Journeyman Moldmaker with experience in mold design, project management, and technical sales for automotive and other markets. As a project manager, he works with customers throughout all stages of their molding program, helping to optimize product design, minimize production costs and ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.
