Enterprise Messaging System DeskAlerts Announces New Alerts Functionality
(PRWEB) August 04, 2014 -- The alert software DeskAlerts has unveiled new functionality upgrades. It has announced that users will now be able to save the content of their received desktop alert as either a PDF or a video file.
The ability to send alerts to select user desktops is at the very heart of the DeskAlert’s functionality. For those sending the alert, the platform ensures that notifications are displayed prominently on the desktop, meaning important notifications and updates cannot be missed or ignored in the same way a more traditional business communications medium such as email can. Because it supports a wide range of content formats, DeskAlerts is a flexible, targeted and measurable way to send a range of notifications including important updates, emergency alerts, event reminders, blog updates and even RSVP invitations to staff members in the form of a desktop pop up message.
For users, the new capability means that important notifications such as documents, to do lists, videos and training manuals can now be saved to the desktop and referred back to at a later date.
Roman Toporkov, Developer at DeskAlerts said, “With DeskAlerts, information is delivered embedded within a pop up window. This pop up is prominently displayed on the desktop, ensuring messages and updates are not missed. We realise that the information contained in many alerts is often relevant to future work and in many cases, the ability to save files and other attachments to the desktop for direct access later would be hugely beneficial. This is exactly what our latest system update is designed to do.”
Available now to all users, the new save notification function is expected to have a range of uses and applications. Roman Toporkov added, “The ability to click and save notification content to the desktop as a PDF or video file means that users no longer need worry about how to access crucial information delivered to them in a notification at a later date. They can simply save the notification to the hard drive or desktop in much the same way, and certainly as easily, as they would right click and save a file attached to an email.”
A web-based enterprise messaging system, DeskAlerts can be used to send actionable and multimedia content including video, flash, images and HTML with any notification. It’s also possible to attach documents to alerts (including documents to be digitally signed) so that official information is delivered in a safe, secure and accessible manner. The save as PDF or video option is expected to be particularly useful for recipients who regularly receive these types of notifications.
Organizations using DeskAlerts will also be able to use the save as PDF function to encourage collaboration. Even colleagues working in geographically diverse locations in receipt of the same file via a pop up notification can save the same document and then collaborate on its contents, complete enclosed tasks, submit reviews or suggest additions. By being able to come back and review a file from the desktop with direct access, important and ongoing projects can be managed via the alert software.
Files that need saving can therefore be targeted via notification to only the specific users requiring the information. In the case of any notification, either with our without content that should be saved as PDF or video, a robust reporting system means reading confirmation is available at the click of a button.
Alerts sent from the DeskAlerts control panel can be displayed as pop up notifications and delivered in front of a locked desktop or active screen saver. The alert is then the first thing the user sees upon returning to their desk, giving priority information precedence over any other installed application. DeskAlerts also gives organizations the option to send their notifications as corporate screensavers or as corporate wallpapers.
The save as PDF or video function is available to all existing DeskAlerts users including those with a customized skin and users running a custom developed DeskAlerts solution.
