ESPinc Names Brittany Spradling President
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) May 22, 2014 -- ESPinc, one of Tennessee’s largest independent, public consulting firms, has named Brittany Spradling as President, effective June 1, 2014. Current President Bob Shupe transitions to CEO, and Jeremy Shupe has been promoted to President of the newly-formed Risk Assurance Inspections.
“ESPinc has always looked for every opportunity to adapt to changes in the insurance industry--both in property and casualty and employee benefits,” Shupe says. “Our corporate growth and growing technical changes have created the need to divide responsibilities between P&C and benefits.” Risk Assurance Inspections becomes a wholly-owned company under ESPinc, handling the property evaluations for over $13 billion in insured assets and overseeing P&C operations.
“The two issues most dramatically affecting healthcare and associated costs in the next decade will be analytical data and health behavior,” Bob Shupe says. “Brittany has a unique background with proven results in both areas. This combination of specialties is not often found in one individual.”
Spradling comes to ESPinc after over six years with Covance Clinical Development Services, where she rose to clinical Data Manager after beginning in 2006 as a Clinical Data Associate. In 2013, she received the prestigious Covance Way Award, awarded to less than one percent of the international Covance workforce. A graduate of Belmont University, Spradling specializes in data analytics regarding new pharmaceutical drugs. Her time with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Mental Health Cooperative involved face-to-face interaction with individual behavior.
Owner and CEO Shupe worked for the Nationwide Insurance Group for eleven years, before purchasing ESPinc in 1988. A Belmont University graduate, Shupe is a prior president of The Tennessee Association of Health Underwriters and 2000-01 winner of the Middle Tennessee Association of Health Underwriters’ "Underwriter of the Year Award.” Shupe’s published articles include contributions to Life Insurance Selling, Health Insurance Underwriter and The Self Insurer. Shupe also authored 2006’s nonfiction The Bitter Pill...Where Did My Benefits Go? and the 2009 novel Ultimate Point of Vulnerability. He currently serves on the Government Relations Committee of the Self Insured Institute of America.
ESPinc was founded in 1969 by the late Robert Sanderson and purchased in 1988 by Bob Shupe. ESPinc specializes in public entity work, consulting on employee benefits and property & casualty, including workers’ compensation and On The Job Injury opt-out programs. ESPinc’s insurance portfolio encompasses $13 billion in replacement value coverage and benefits for over 25,000 lives. Atypically for the industry, ESPinc does not sell insurance products nor take insurance company commissions. ESPinc is a pure fee-based consulting firm.
