Family-Friendly Designs Come to Life With DIBZY
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) October 14, 2015 -- What happens to a product idea BEFORE the innovators are ready to swim with the sharks? It goes to DIBZY, a company that dreams big and invents smart, helping to create, build and sell family-friendly designs.
DIBZY’s creative community provides a rich portfolio of services to help build products, create brands, boost businesses and transform dreams into market-ready, family-friendly designs in the consumer-product and juvenile industries. “DIBZY matches designers with a seasoned team of experts and a community of parents to support the ideas they’re passionate about,” says Carolyn Sullivan Taylor DIBZY’S Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “We believe that great innovations are designs that work for real families.”
Realizing the challenge with product development was not a lack of ingenuity but rather one of product execution and forming connections, the DIBZY team meshed their experience into a company that provides the coaching and expertise that up-and-coming designers and small businesses need to succeed in a heavily regulated field. Most manufacturers in the consumer- and juvenile-products industries have in-house product-development and marketing teams or outsource to multiple vendors, which can be a very expensive and cumbersome process. DIBZY makes product development accessible.
DIBZY’s Chief Creative Officer Shelly Meridith Delice is certainly no stranger to the challenges of new-product development. “With my toy line The ROOMIES™, we had great success with press and won a myriad of awards,” Delice explains. “This was encouraging, but I found the sales and manufacturing side of the business to be overwhelming. I would’ve benefitted greatly from working with a team like DIBZY, which is why I am so passionate about helping fellow creatives achieve their goals.”
DIBZY’S proven track record and expertise in every aspect of bringing a product to market includes strategic product-development, design, marketing, retail placement, sales, and protecting intellectual property. This makes DIBZY a valuable resource for many entrepreneurs and growing businesses.
When innovator Jennifer Flowers began working with DIBZY, all she had was a concept. “I was really excited about providing parents with an alternative solution to swaddling, but I didn’t know how to bring my idea to life,” she says. DIBZY created a custom product-development roadmap for her, and the Tum Tum brand was born. Tum Tum consists of a line of innovative tummy warmers for babies that provide the benefits of swaddling without restricting the infants’ limbs.
In addition to collecting extensive market research supporting the need for a product like Tum Tum as well as commissioning a study by a former NASA engineer that showed the garment met its goals of warming a baby’s core and extremities, DIBZY was also responsible for creating branding assets including product name, logo, tagline, packaging, copywriting, and executing the digital and creative strategy for Tum Tum.
“I was looking for it all,” Flowers says. “I had a great idea, and the DIBZY team guided my dream every step of the way. They helped me create my product as well as build my company.”
Understanding industry standards and complying with restrictive government guidelines is a non-negotiable requirement for success. Simple details such as fabric and label choice challenge many innovators. “I was frustrated with the look of my product and needed to find someone who could design and was experienced in the juvenile industry, which has an entirely different playing field than other consumer-product industries,” says Tereson Dupuy, founder of FuzziBunz, a cloth diaper line.
In 2012, Dupuy made an appearance on “Shark Tank,” where she was advised by Mark Cuban that FuzziBunz needed to “outcompete.” “DIBZY helped me revamp FuzziBunz’s look and brought the professional pop and style we couldn’t expect from working with a generic graphic designer,” Dupuy says.
DIBZY’s commitment to helping people develop and launch their products includes providing designers with a platform on the company’s website to share their stories and showcase their innovations. This curated DIBZY Designer Showcase presents thoughtfully designed products for families.
“The market is controlled by a few large manufacturers and retailers,” explains Carolyn Sullivan Taylor. “We are building this community to promote passionate designers and connect them to potential buyers and collaborators. We plan to change the game for how products are brought to market and also be the go-to for innovation and launching products in the consumer-product and juvenile industries.”
DIBZY Designer Showcase highlights inventors and goods while becoming a resource for unique gifting items that meet DIBZY’s core values of accountability, empowerment, diversity, social responsibility, respect and community. The products that DIBZY helped create are showcased on the site with the “DIBZY Designed” seal to ensure customers of exceptional function, quality and safety performance.
To date, DIBZY has successfully launched products for companies including Tum Tum, Bestie Bags, FuzziBunz and Bedtime4Dogs. DIBZY is quickly becoming the destination for aspiring entrepreneurs, new designers and product companies looking to swim with the sharks in the big pool. “We are the glue that bonds the right people with the right resource,” says DIBZY Chief Product Officer, Jenny Faw. “We are seeing our growing community interacting and helping each other. We call this “DIBZY magic!’”
