Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement Launches 2018 Scholarship Application
Westminster, MD (PRWEB) October 03, 2017 -- The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement will be awarding a total of $100,000 in scholarships to students who are planning to attend or are currently enrolled as full-time students at a college, university, or technical school, planning to pursue a career in agriculture. The deadline for all applications and supporting materials is January 12, 2018.
“We received applications from over 120 talented students last year,” says Ralph Robertson, a Maryland farmer and chairman of the Foundation’s board of directors. “It made the selection process a tough one, but I have no doubt the future of agriculture is in great hands. These students have such a passion for the industry, and as a farmer myself, that makes me immensely proud.”
The Farm Credit Foundation for Agricultural Advancement’s scholarship program will award ten scholarships in 2018, each valued at $10,000. This program is open to high school seniors or students currently enrolled in a two or four year educational program. All applicants must be planning to pursue a career in agriculture. This includes students planning to go into production agriculture, as well as those planning to be educators, veterinarians, engineers, economists, or another profession within the industry. Applicants must reside in MidAtlantic Farm Credit’s five-state territory. For a complete list of eligible counties, please see FCFoundationforAg.org.
“I’ve always looked at agriculture as one giant family, and these students certainly prove that to be true,” says Robertson. “This Foundation was formed with the intention of ensuring the industry thrives for the future generations. I encourage all those eligible for this scholarship to apply. We’d love to help you pursue your dream of working in agriculture.”
Applications are being accepted online now through January 12, 2018. For more information, please visit FCFoundationforAg.org or email info(at)FCFoundationforAg(dot)org.
