Farm Credit Shares Financial Tips with Local Sustainable Food Producers
Westminster, MD (PRWEB) February 25, 2014 -- MidAtlantic Farm Credit presented to attendees at the 23rd Annual “Farming for the Future” conference, hosted by the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA). The conference was held February 5th through 8th at the Penn Stater Conference Center, located in State College, Pennsylvania.
Bill Kitsch, sales manager located in MidAtlantic Farm Credit’s Lancaster, Pennsylvania office, presented to a group during the conference segment “Raising Dough: Financing Your Food Based Business”. His discussion, “The 5 C’s of Credit”, reviewed the importance of a good credit score and the many factors that have an effect on it. “Being a part of the PASA conference is a great way to touch this diverse community,” says Kitsch. “Presenting ideas on business planning and ways to improve credit rating helps raise awareness of Farm Credit’s vast knowledge and experience with this growing segment. We learn from them just as they learn from us.”
In addition to presenting during the conference, MidAtlantic Farm Credit partnered with AgChoice Farm Credit to sponsor the event. MidAtlantic Farm Credit CEO, Bob Frazee, expressed his support for Farm Credit’s role in the annual conference and within the sustainable agriculture community as a whole. “Farm Credit understands the importance of promoting sustainable agriculture practices and this growing community. We lend support wherever we can and look forward to continuing our partnership with PASA and their annual conference.”
PASA’s mission is to promote profitable farming that provides nutritious food options for everyone, while respecting the environment. The theme of this year’s conference was “Letting Nature Lead”, meaning people should look to the natural environment to help them produce healthy and resilient crops that serve the needs of both farmers and consumers. PASA provides its members and the surrounding community with information on ways to build a more sustainable food system. For more information about PASA, please visit http://www.pasafarming.org.
