FLC Celebrates American Innovation At 2018 National Meeting In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) January 09, 2018 -- The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) is coming to the birthplace of American innovation for its 2018 national meeting. Technology transfer (T2) and industry professionals from businesses and federal laboratories across the nation will come together to learn, share, and form valuable connections in Philadelphia on April 24 – 28 at the Loews Hotel.
Registration is now open for this can’t-miss annual conference that attracts some of the most forward-thinking minds in the science and technology field. T2 professionals have the opportunity to receive in-depth training from subject-matter experts, share best practice strategies for marketing technologies, gain insight into relevant public policy and industry practices, and more.
“Our T2 professionals know the importance of groundbreaking innovation and collaboration, and the importance of firsts. Philadelphia is a city of firsts. America’s first hospital, the first medical library, the first stock exchange. Each year, the FLC looks at the national meeting as an opportunity to give our national laboratories better resources to foster lab-to-market efforts,” said Kathleen McDonald, FLC Program Committee chair.
On Wednesday April 25, keynote speaker Dan Berglund, President and CEO of the State Science and Technology Institute (SSTI), will begin the meeting by discussing trends, new developments, and the road ahead in technology-based economic development. SSTI is a nonprofit organization that leads, supports, and strengthens efforts to improve state and regional economies through science, technology, and innovation.
Industry professionals are encouraged to network with FLC members on Industry Day, April 26. Thomas Osha, Senior Vice President of Innovation and Economic Development at Wexford Science and Technology, will deliver the Industry Day keynote address, followed by an incubator and accelerator panel, and opportunities for attendees to connect with one another.
In addition to valuable training and education, the FLC national meeting features the FLC awards ceremony–an event that recognizes the important work being done in our national laboratories each year. Past winners include NASA’s Robotic Glove and the Department of Defense’s Hemostatic Bandages.
