The Florida Division of Professions, Electrical Contractors' Licensing Board (ECLB) requires 14 hours of continuing education for each renewal cycle. Seven of the fourteen hours must be on technical subjects (T), one hour on workers' compensation (C), one hour on workplace safety (S), one hour on business practices (B), one hour of advanced course (Adv), and one hour of laws and rules (L). The other two hours can be on any of the above topics and will count as general credit. Contractors engaged in alarm system contracting must complete a two hour false alarm prevention course as part of their electrical continuing education.
