Fountaingate Gardens Receives Approvals from Town of Huntington Planning Board
COMMACK, N.Y., June 1, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Fountaingate Gardens, the proposed Life Plan Community* sponsored by Gurwin in Commack, recently received several key approvals that have allowed the project to move closer to construction.
"These approvals are exciting for us, because each is a step closer to allowing us to serve more of Long Island's residents," Herb Friedman, Fountaingate Gardens' President and CEO said. "We're looking forward to bringing contemporary senior living to Commack."
Last month, the Town of Huntington Planning Board approved a preliminary map for a subdivision of the property where the project will be built. Gurwin purchased the 10-acre parcel in 2005. The preliminary approval was the first step in a process to grant a new subdivision between the proposed community and the adjacent property. A hearing to approve the final map is expected in the near future.
Additionally, the Suffolk County Sewer Agency accepted Gurwin's application for handling the additional waste treatment needs associated with the new community. The acceptance of the application initiates the design and engineering review process for the new plant.
Finally, the Huntington Town Board approved a slight modification in the zoning for the Fountaingate Gardens project related to its internal road system and access to Commack Road.
Fountaingate Gardens, a proposed Life Plan Community, will offer new independent living apartments and a range of services and amenities to seniors in the heart of Long Island. As approvals are finalized, construction is planned to begin before the end of the year.
