Garmin 620 Versus Garmin 610 By HRWC
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) October 18, 2013 -- Garmin Forerunner 620 is Garmin's latest GPS watch for runners and the Heart Rate Watch Company compares it to its predecessor the Forerunner 610 prior to Holiday shopping.
What is New?
"The Forerunner 620 is a revolution within a single generation of evolution in running watches," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "The 620 is 38% lighter in weight, fits better, has a higher resolution display and adds several new performance features that the 610 did not have".
Weight
"The weight part is significant because the watch is a full ounce lighter, which doesn't sound like a lot but when you consider 18,000 arm swings in a marathon you are moving 1,125 less pounds," says Squire. He adds, "This watch will finally be a GPS watch that is a good fit for women, plus the new hinged wrist band fits small and larger wrists equally well".
Screen Resolution
Garmin 620 has a 108px by 108px screen, which is much higher resolution than the average 60px most fitness watches deliver. "That and the fact that it is full color will allow older runners requiring reading glasses to finally see their data better", says Squire.
Advanced Features
The 620 includes run oscillation and ground contact time. "Run oscillation measures the amount of vertical energy going into your stride and you want to minimize that," says Squire. He adds, "Ground contact time measures the amount of time in milliseconds that your fett are on the ground and you want to reduce that as well".
"These new features are very meaningful for improving the technical aspects of your running," says Squire. "Lower your oscillation and your ground foot contact time and you will run faster and no other watch will give you this data".
Water Resistant
The Forerunner 620 is water resistant to 50 meters whereas the 610 is only IPX7, meaning 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. "The 610 was fine for a rain storm but I wouldn't swim with it," says Squire. He adds, "Now with the 620 swimming is no problem".
Where to Buy
"You can get the Garmin Forerunner 620 at the Heart Rate Watch Company website or by calling us at 866-586-7129", says Squire. He adds, "In another week or so new orders will be looking out until late November, I just talked to Garmin today and that is how far out they are, it is very popular."
