Garmin fenix 2 Best New Ski and Run Watch Says HRWC
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) March 02, 2014 -- fenix 2 is the new outdoor GPS watch from Garmin that covers nearly all outdoor sports well but it is especially well suited to running and skiing, says the Heart Rate Watch Company.
Ski Features
"Garmin fenix 2 has a ski program built right in that will count runs, measure vertical, distance, speed and even map all your runs for the day," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company and skiing 12 hour vertical record holder. He adds, "I really like the fabric band because you can put the watch over your ski coat for instant visibility."
"You can even remote control a Garmin VIRB Elite HD action camera that is helmet mounted, so this is a pretty significant tool for capturing all your downhill skiing adventures," says Squire. He adds, "fenix 2 can also receive text messages on screen if you are skiing with an iPhone 4S or later version in your pocket so you can stay connected, even in the back country."
Running Features
Garmin fenix 2 Performer bundle with the HRM-Run strap can do all the advanced running features of the amazing Garmin Forerunner 620 but with about two and one-half times more battery life. "This makes fenix 2 a real powerhouse for everyone from trail runners to ultra-marathon runners," says Squire.
"Garmin fenix 2 is now one of only two watches in the world, the 620 being the other, that can capture run oscillation and ground contact time," says Squire. "These measurements can help you focus on better biomechanics by lowering the vertical energy in your stride."
Availability and Pricing
Garmin fenix 2 should be available to ship just after March 15th and the Heart Rate Watch Company is taking advance orders right now. "If you want one get a pre-order in because these are selling very fast," says Squire.
The Garmin fenix 2 is $399.99 without the HRM-Run strap and $449.99 with the strap included. "We recommend getting the HRM-Run strap in the Performer bundle because otherwise the strap is a $99 option after the fact," says Squire.
