General Motors Joins Speaker Line-Up at TU-Automotive Cybersecurity USA
Detroit, MI (PRWEB) January 14, 2016 -- At the TU-Automotive Cybersecurity USA Conference, Mr Baltes is to join a panel of experts from Security Innovation, Strategy Analytics and Peloton Technology to discuss how to update security protocols and processes for the next generation of automotive technology, including autonomous vehicles and higher-speed computing. He will contribute valuable automaker insight to the perspectives of security researchers and V2X technology developers respectively.
Annie Reddaway, head of cybersecurity research at TU-Automotive said “We are delighted to confirm Mr Baltes’ participation on this panel. Cybersecurity can only be implemented through positive collaboration within the automotive industry, and it is encouraging that General Motors is prepared to lend its perspective to the debate.”
The full panel overview is outlined below:
Future Proofing: Next Gen Automotive Technology
With security needing to be implemented from the get-go, delve into the next stages for automotive tech., including V2X, fleets and autonomous cars. What security requirements do these introduce?
- Anticipate the tech being developed today, to be found in future vehicles incl. ADAS systems to see what might be needed from the security perspective
- Autonomous: dream or nightmare? Scope out the real challenges and requirements, and how automakers can convince partners and consumers that they are safe and secure
- Think big! Identify what could threaten existing security paradigms, eg. threats to networked vehicles when quantum computing comes into play just as autonomous cars penetrate the market
Kevin Baltes, Director and CISO - Vehicle Services Cybersecurity, General Motors
Chuck Price, Vice President, Cloud Engineering, Peloton Technology
Jonathan Petit, Principal Scientist, Security Innovation
Moderator: Greg Basich, Senior Analyst, Strategy Analytics
