Get Hands on with Trains at Trainfest 2014
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (PRWEB) October 31, 2014 -- Trainfest is where dreams come true for train fans of any ages. Drawn by the sheer number of train layouts on display, thousands of visitors have made Trainfest Milwaukee’s largest fall annual event. In 2014 it will be the biggest Trainfest ever with the show expanding to fill two buildings at the WI State Fair Park. Model train layouts will now occupy nearly 5 football fields during the weekend of November 8th & 9th.
Providing more opportunities to get “hands on” with trains and model railroading hobby is a major emphasis in 2014.
Trainfest is America’s largest operating model railroad show with more than 70 remarkable operating railroads from Z to G scale on display, 100+ manufacturers and hobby dealers, a dozen historical groups, plus artists, photography displays, clinics, and on-site demonstrations.
What’s New at Trainfest 2014?
Run and Ride the Trains at Trainfest
Kids 5 to 99 will be able to run the trains on nearly 80% of the 70+ huge layouts at Trainfest.
New for 2014, Milwaukee Light Engineering Society (MLES) will be bringing their rideable train and a football field of track for FREE train rides through and around Trainfest!
New “Kids Only” Clinic
Kids 7 – 12 can get started on their very own railroad at the new Make ‘n Take clinic. Compliments of Walther’s, each participant will build a Whistle Stop Station to take home. Spots are limited, pre-registration is required at Trainfest.com.
Trainfest Junior Engineer Program
Learn everything about trains by participating in the all new Trainfest Junior Engineer Program. Register at the WISE Division booth.
Expanded Kids’ Activity Zone
Choo Choo Bob and the Holy Smokestacks revue is returning by popular demand to perform live both days. Cast members will be doing story time too and Choo Choo Bob is providing wooden train tables for the littlest train fan’s fun!
Kids can make a cute train photo frame courtesy of Glue Dots. Make sure to check out the fantastic balloon twister and spend some time in the Thomas the Train jump house. All activities in the Kids’ Activity Zone are free with a Trainfest paid admission.
