Global Habitat Resources Acquires Perlite Mine Concession in Mexico
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 23, 2014 -- Global Habitat Resources announced today that the company has acquired 98% of MX Pozzolan S.A. de C.V., a Mexican Corporate owner of a 30 million tons/ 30 year concession of Perlite, along with the fee simple of 377 hectares (931.5 acres) of land.
In order to keep to the schedule of asset transfer, Wolodymyr Starosolsky, the Acting Chairman of the Board, and Daniel D. Correa, CEO of Global Habitat Resources, Inc., have signed and completed the agreement to acquire and transfer 98% of the Perlite Mining Concession in Guererro, Mexico. The mining property is located 40 miles east of Acapulco, Mexico.
The company plans to begin the promotion and exploitation of the mine starting the third quarter of 2014. Then the mined Perlite will be shipped to the US, as well as internationally, from the nearby Port of Lazaro Cardenas in Michoacán, which is located 180 miles northwest of its Perlite mine site. This commercial port is also connected to the Lazaro Cardenas-Kansas City Corridor, a trade route linking Kansas City to key Asian-Pacific markets via ships-to-rail terminal.
Global Habitat Resources Inc. expects to realize exceptional profits from the international sale of the raw Perlite and processed materials. Depending on the markets, the international sales price for one ton of the mined Perlite ranges from raw $60 and processed to $220 US. Expanded Perlite can range from $400 to $600 a ton.
The company has been very active in R&D for the application of this green material, amongst the agricultural and industrial industries (gas and petroleum drilling insulators). Additional plans to use it for the manufacturing of its patented Incablock construction system, will increase the R value of its unique building blocks to R 4.5 and lowering its weight. Thermal Mortar and Thermal Insulators utilize “expanded Perlite” as the main ingredient. Perlite is a siliceous material that, while not possessing cementing properties, reacts chemically with the hydration of lime to produce a very dense, impermeable concrete. Perlite improves the concrete and is the solution to environmentally deleterious conditions created by the manufacture of concrete. Perlite can replace up to 40 % of the harmful and environmentally destructive conditions that are the usual byproduct of Portland cement manufacturing process.
Natural Perlite has been tested in Europe, the Middle East and many other countries. Perlite has been certified as a soil amendment in agriculture and horticultural applications. The test results from laboratories, universities, and the agriculture industry as well as from multinational corporations demonstrate the benefits of Perlite utilization by providing 50% to 80% in water savings, along in expanding the growth of plant root systems. Perlite is non-toxic to the environment, is easily applied and is the least expensive product in its field. It does not attract or retain salt, can be transported economically in large quantities, retains 100% of its dry weight in moisture (expanded 3 to 4 times its weight), reduces evaporation, percolation and runoff. It creates a thermal barrier which helps retain moisture, increases wicking action (soil capillary action) to draw moisture uphill, holds moisture on inclines, and maximizes reduction in run-off. Perlite accelerates plant-growth in the manner of a high-quality fertilizer. It functions as a non-poisonous insecticide and can be employed to entrap and encapsulate released radioactive materials. The company is seeking investors and partners to expand in the US and the Canadian markets.
