Greenberg Traurig Welcomes Eudeen Y. Chang to Orange County Office
IRVINE, California (PRWEB) May 13, 2015 -- Expands China-focused Services and Litigation Practice
Eudeen Y. Chang is returning to international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder in the Irvine office. In addition to his litigation practice, Chang, who is fluent in Mandarin, serves as outside general counsel for Chinese investors and companies and counsels clients in real estate, corporate structure, formation, and governance matters.
“We are excited to welcome Eudeen back to Greenberg Traurig. His robust and diverse practice assisting investors from Asia aligns him well with our award-winning existing Corporate, Real Estate, Immigration, Intellectual Property and Litigation departments allowing our clients a continually broad range of services,” said Rick Tache, Orange County co-managing shareholder and co-chair of the firm’s Global Patent Litigation Group.
“Eudeen’s client experience with Asian investment in U.S. real estate, particularly in hotel transactions, and EB-5 financing is exactly what clients expect from our strong Orange County office and firmwide EB-5 practice,” said Bruce Fischer, the firm’s Orange County co-managing shareholder and chair of the West Coast Real Estate Practice. “Eudeen’s unique focus in serving investment clients from China is a wonderful fit for our cross-border practices.”
Traditionally a litigator, Chang has expanded his practice to assist Chinese clients in real estate investments throughout California and the U.S. Notably, in 2014, he assisted a Chinese developer with the acquisition and is now working on the development of a $700-million-dollar project in downtown Los Angeles. He works with numerous other Chinese investors desiring to acquire real estate assets and establish businesses in the U.S. Chang served as vice chairman of the Chinese Investment Group and was a senior member of the Hospitality Practice at his former firm, Jeffer Mangels. He was at Greenberg Traurig as an associate from 2007 until 2009.
Chang’s broad litigation experience includes handling contract and real estate disputes, including in the areas of trade secrets, unfair competition, hospitality, and claims involving the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Highlighting the strategic expansion of the California offices, Chang is the fourth successive California litigation hire in the past 30 days, following commercial/securities litigator David Lisi, commercial litigator Howard Holderness, and white collar litigator Jeffrey Palmer.
Chang received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law and A.B. from University of California at Berkeley.
