Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts Celebrated its 10th Year Anniversary
San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) March 10, 2014 -- On March 1st, 2014 Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts, a private allied-health and nursing college in California, celebrated its 10th year anniversary.
The celebration of the 10th year anniversary took place in a beautiful Bay View Dining Room of San Mateo City College. The view was amazing and allowed all guests to wonder the beauty of the Bay Area. The event started at 5pm and ended at 11pm. All staff and faculty members were invited. The event included faculty and staff awards for three categories: Fabulous Faculty, Superb Staff and Creative Corporate. There was also a raffle and a show. Campus Directors, C-Level Executives and many faculty and staff members had a chance to shine on stage. A short Video was played for all guests to tell the story of Gurnick.
Gurnick Academy started operations in 2004 with one program - Ultrasound Technology at San Mateo Campus. In 2005 the first branch campus in Concord and in 2007 two more campuses in Modesto and Fresno, California opened their doors.
In 2009 Gurnick Academy was granted accreditation by Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools (ABHES) and in 2013 Gurnick Academy received ABHES re-accreditation for a maximum timeframe of 8 years through February 28 of 2022. Second time in a row Gurnick excels and exceeds accrediting expectations.
Currently Gurnick operates 4 campuses in Northern/Central California and offers 9 allied-health and nursing programs: Medical Assistant, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Personal Fitness Trainer, Phlebotomy Technician, Physical Therapist Assistant, Psychiatric Technician, Radiologic and Ultrasound Technology and Vocational Nurse Programs. There are more than 250 faculty and staff members working at Gurnick and more than 1200 students are served annually.
Gurnick Academy considers the clinical experience to be integral part of its students medical education. Students are placed throughout Gurnick’s 300+ affiliated medical facilities as interns while attending the school, thus combining didactic and hand-on experience. The internship program is designed to provide students with a thorough experience of the healthcare profession.
Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts is approved by US Department of Education to participate in Title IV/Federal Financial Aid programs. Gurnick is also approved for the training of Veterans and eligible persons as an eligible institution. This approval will enable Veterans and their eligible dependents/spouses to utilize their GI Bill benefits to train to become Career Healthcare professionals.
