Haag-Streit UK host successful ‘Improving Outcomes’ Biometry Courses in Manchester
Harlow, Essex (PRWEB UK) 17 October 2014 -- Haag-Streit UK(HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, has recently hosted the second in a series of ‘Improving Outcomes’ biometry courses at the MacDonald Hotel and Spa in Manchester. The courses took place on Thursday the 9th and Friday the 10th of October and were hugely successful, with delegates attending from all over the UK.
Both courses included a mixture of practical workshops and presentations from experts in the field of biometry, including; Mr David Sculfor, Consultant Optometrist, Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Mr Sathish Srinivasan, Consultant Ophthalmologist, University Hospital Ayr.
Each course offered 7.5 CPD points, with topics including; Formulae for IOL power calculation, toric IOL planning, interpretation of measurement data and an introduction to T-cone.
The LENSTAR LS 900 biometer was present throughout the two-days and hands-on demonstrations were available for delegates. The LENSTAR provides nine measurements per scan in fewer than 30 seconds, improving accuracy and accelerating workflow. The biometer offers more precise K readings than any other optical biometer and all standard IOL predictions are built in to the software.
