Head Over Heels Athletic Arts Wins at the Largest Gymnastics Invitational in the World
Emeryville, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Head Over Heels Athletic Arts (HOH) sent their Level 10 gymnasts to Chicago, IL the weekend of February 7th – 9th to compete in the 2014 Chicago Style, the largest gymnastics invitational competition in the world. HOH was represented by eight athletes who were split into two designated teams of four. Their superior technique and difficulty stood out capturing the attention of judges and coaches as well as college scouts. HOH’s top athlete, Junior Division Courtney Klausen, age 12, won the All-Around title with a score of 37.225 and Uneven Bars with a 9.275. For this achievement, Klausen has been invited to compete in the prestigious, invitation only 2014 Nastia Liukin Cup scheduled for February 28th in Greensboro, N.C.
Teammate Cairo Leonard Baker was a close second for All-Around with a score of 37.175. Junior Division Talia Brovedani captured the Beam and Floor titles with 9.6 and 9.525 respectively. In the middle age division Katelyn Lentz won both the Beam and All-Around titles. “We are so very proud of athletes,” states Katreece Stone, HOH’s Executive Director and Girls Competitive Program Director. “Our recent successes are a testament to the work ethic of our young athletes as well as the skill of our coaching staff.”
Head Over Heels Athletic Arts next two competitions are Spirit of the Flame on Saturday, March 1st at the Santa Clara Convention Center and the 2014 Byers Invitational on March 7th through 9th at the McClellan Convention Center in Sacramento, CA.
