Healthcare Compliance Symposium to Cover Challenging Topics with Expert Attorneys
WILMINGTON, Del. (PRWEB) March 14, 2018 -- The Healthcare Compliance Symposium is a joint effort of Delaware Law School and First Healthcare Compliance to provide resources for professionals facing the challenges of the fast growing and highly regulated healthcare industry. The full day event will be held on April 12, 2018 in Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom at the Delaware Law School and will include continental breakfast, lunch, and an evening networking reception. Registration is open to the public, but availability is limited.
This is an opportunity for professionals from the healthcare and legal communities to come together for a day of discussion and learning. Attendees are eligible to receive 4 CLE credits in Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and PAHCOM CEUs while networking with industry peers. The Medical Society of Delaware designates this live continuing medical education activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Thought leaders will provide meaningful insight on time-sensitive topics including: elements of a compliance program, HIPAA Privacy and Security, OSHA, and human resources for compliance. Four speakers will provide instruction and lead discussions among panelists and attendees to cover recent cases and practical scenarios.
Four expert attorneys will lead the presentations and panels:
Shauna Itri is a shareholder at the firm Berger & Montague where she concentrates her practice on complex litigation, specifically representing whistleblowers in qui tam or False Claims Act law suits in state and federal courts throughout the United States and tax and securities whistleblowers with claims under the IRS and SEC whistleblower programs. She received a B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University and earned her Juris Doctor from the Villanova University School of Law.
William Mundy is an attorney at the firm of Burns White and is a member of the Executive Committee and Co-Chair of its HealthCare and Long-Term Care Group. Mr. Mundy’s practice is focused on the representation of long-term healthcare providers and the defense of medical malpractice and professional liability claims. He received a B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University and earned his Juris Doctor from the Villanova University School of Law.
Catherine Walters is a partner at Saul Ewing Arnstein and Lehr where she is a labor and employment attorney who provides exclusive management-side representation and compliance services for large, mid-sized and small employers with national and international reach, including both federal and state government contractors. She received her J.D. from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law and earned a B.A. from C.W. Post College of Long Island University, magna cum laude.
Sheba Vine is Vice President and General Counsel at First Healthcare Compliance where she oversees all company operations related to contracts, content offerings, legal affairs, human resources and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining the company, Sheba was in private practice, concentrating in litigation and employment law. She received her Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University and is a Certified Professional Compliance Officer.
Several other experts will participate as panelists during the sessions to share valuable advice through conversations centered around real-world scenarios that occur at the intersection of healthcare and legal matters.
