Healthcare Industry Thought Leaders Join Leap Rail Advisory Board
San Francisco (PRWEB) April 27, 2017 -- Leap Rail, a developer of artificial intelligence and predictive analytic tools for the operating suite, announced that several nationally respected healthcare industry thought leaders have joined the company’s advisory board, whose membership now includes: Jeffrey Rivest, former president and CEO of University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC); Thomas Krummel, MD, professor and chair emeritus at Department of Surgery at Stanford; Gary Goldman, DDS, MD, Sutter Health anesthesiologist and EHR physician informaticist; Bauback Safa, MD, MBA, president of the American Society of Gender Surgeons; and Adam Schlifke, MD, MBA, health IT leader and staff anesthesiologist at Kaiser Permanente.
“We are honored and humbled to bring together and have the support of such a distinguished and forward-thinking group of industry leaders,” said Shayan Zadeh, founder and CEO of Leap Rail. “By assembling a multidisciplinary advisory board and combining their clinical and business insights with the technical capabilities of the founding team, we are well-positioned to deliver on the promise of artificial intelligence for clinical workflow optimization.”
Underutilized operating time can have substantial, negative financial impact on a hospital's or surgery center's financial performance. Losses can be thousands of dollars per room. Because operating rooms are dynamic environments, clinicians must respond to many changes, such as intraoperative delays, late patients, delayed starts, emergent cases, and cancellations. Meticulous in-advance planning is required, but not sufficient for running an efficient operating room. Leap Rail applies artificial intelligence and predictive analytic models to this complex and dynamic environment and empowers the operating room administrators to better manage the unpredictability with real time actionable recommendations.
“Operating rooms are such an integral part of a hospital’s operations that every executive I know pays close attention to the operational efficiency in their suites.” Said Jeffrey Rivest, former president and CEO of University of Maryland Medical Center. “Leap Rail’s use of artificial intelligence offers the potential to improve efficiency in the operating suite which can lead to improved quality of care for patients, lower costs, and increased physician and staff satisfaction.”
